About
Diane Forbes Davin was born and raised in the Boston area. She moved with her husband to the Philadelphia area in 1980 and over the last 45 years, raised a family, pursued a career in health care and now has refocused her time and attention on her love of oil painting.
Diane’s love of art started at an early age with a constant desire to pen simple drawings of horses, almost like most people spend time doodling. In high school, Diane joined her father in membership to a local art association. Her father George, a fine painter in his own right, inspired Diane to take up oil painting. She would sit and watch her father paint, observing his technique and style of painting. At first, he would share his paints with his daughter until they both decided it was time for her to have her own set. Painting took a back seat to raising a family for a number of years, but Diane never lost the desire to pick up where she left off and get back into this artistic work.
Diane is an oil painter. She loves working in oils for the way that they blend together to form the shadows that are very important in her work. Diane’s first love are still life paintings but more recently, she has expanded her subjects to include various landscapes scenes, some portrait oils, and various images of dogs.
Diane experiences real joy in putting together these works and hopes that those admiring her efforts will experience that same wonderful feeling.
Thank you for your continuing support of her work.
